3-Time FLW AOY David Dudley Joins Livingston Lures Team

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Observant bass fans who watched three-time FLW Tour Angler of the Year David Dudley weigh his fish at the FLW Tour kickoff on Lake Okeechobee last week likely noticed a Livingston Lures logo emblazoned across the front of Dudley's jersey. That's right: Livingston Lures' already-formidable lineup of Team Livingston pros just get even stronger.

Livingston has announced that three-time FLW Tour Angler of the Year David Dudley has joined two-time FLW AOY Andy Morgan, former FLW Rookie of the Year Stetson Blaylock, Bassmaster Classic winners Randy Howell and Casey Ashley, Elite Series AOY Brent Chapman, Jacob Powroznik, Hank Cherry and Byron Velvick on the Team Livingston roster, starting with the FLW Tour kickoff this week on Lake Okeechobee, Florida.

"This is a great fit for me," Dudley said. "I've spent countless hours underwater studying fish, hunting fish and looking at fish habitat, and one thing that is undeniable is that I always hear fish, every time I go down under. Livingston's Electronic Baitfish Sounds™ (EBS) technology is an undeniable must-have. It brings a natural element – the sound of actual baitfish – to the totally unnatural element that we're accustomed to throwing."

Dudley, from Lynchburg, Virginia, was the FLW's AOY in 2008, and won back-to-back AOY titles in 2011 and 2012. He claimed the Forrest Wood Cup in 2003 on the James River in Virginia, and has racked up 40 Top 10 finishes and seven wins in his FLW Career (and eight Top 10s in B.A.S.S. competition).

"We've been talking to David for a couple of years now, and it was obvious that he thinks about fish differently than most people, really tries hard to understand what causes them to respond to baits," said Erick Arnoldson, Livingston's pro-staff director. "He's paid attention to what Livingston has been doing with our EBS MultiTouch™ technology, and took it upon himself to fish some of our baits so he could get a good firsthand look at what the addition of sound does for a bait. We're extremely fortunate to have an angler of David Dudley's caliber as part of the Livingston team."

FLW Tour opener at Okeechobee
Dudley and the rest of the 169-boat field experienced blustery, rainy conditions all week at Okeechobee, which turned the shallow water murkier and murkier throughout the week. Those late-winter conditions can prevail throughout the country as February/March systems bring high winds, rain, and dirty water – perfect for baits boosted by EBS™ technology.

"The water was higher at Okeechobee than it's been in a long time and it was real windy, which makes for tough fishing on a lake that shallow," Dudley says. "If you're a guy out there looking for fish, this is an example of where EBS™ can help you cover more water, and help find the fish faster."
