Arizona Spring Fish Stocking Report

Before Memorial Day weekend, we'll have stocked an additional 20,000 trout and catfish into waters statewide! The trout are goin' to Woods Canyon and Willow Springs lakes on the Mogollon Rim and Kaibab and Ashurst lakes near Williams.

THE REEL DEAL

Now is the time to hit the high country lakes and streams.

Already stocked were Tonto Creek, the East Verde River, Silver Creek, East Fork of the Black River, and Canyon Creek. Woods Canyon and Willow Springs lakes are being socked this week as well.

The Woods Canyon Lake store reported that rainbows are being caught on almost anything from worms and artificial lures to corn and white bread. A 2.5-pound rainbow was caught on May 6. The biggest tiger trout reported so far has been 14 inches long.

Catfish stockings are ongoing at Community fishing waters, too!

Don't forget to hit the Payson Wildlife Fair on Saturday.

The Agua Fria boat ramp will be closed starting today due to unexpectedly high water levels at Lake Pleasant. The lower parking lot is almost completely underwater and the lake is still rising.

Please refer to the Lake Pleasant Regional Park website with regards to when the area is anticipated to reopen. Maricopa County is in the process of posting this closure notice.
