Bass Angler Fantasy Fish Camp

If you have been following Berkley on social media, you know that the Fantasy Fish Camp contest is in full swing.  The contest has several different phases where fans can enter for a chance to attend a fishing camp with some of the best professional anglers in the country.  Berkley pros Justin Lucas, Adrian Avena, Josh Bertrand and Hunter Shryock will attend the October camp with the four winners.

The camp offers anglers the chance to learn from these top professional anglers at Wildlife Farms in Casscoe, Ark.

Learn from the Pros

“It’s going to be a great event for those who win the contest, because they will have a chance to spend time with professional anglers. Not only are they going to go fishing with us, but more importantly they will see how we break down a new body of water,” said Elite Series pro Adrian Avena.

He added that watching these professional anglers as they try to figure out a new lake will be something you can’t get from any other source besides being there with them in the boat as they do it.

“Things like tips and techniques can be learned pretty easily with so many videos out there, but experiencing how we try to figure it all out is something that I really think will help them in their own fishing," he continued.  "I wish I had been able to win something like this!”

Bassmaster Elite Series pro Justin Lucas is really excited for the vent and added to Avena’s comments “This is going to be a great way for us to share some of the things we have learned as professional anglers," he said.  "We will be there to answer any questions they have and give them the one-on-one attention.”

Lucas is looking forward to the event and says that the winning anglers will have a great time with the pros saying,  “I’m excited for this event and know that Berkley will make it an experience that none of us will forget.“

Have Fun With The Guys

Arizona’s Josh Bertrand believes the event will be a great time to spend time with the winners and swap fish stories. “Any time you get a group of guys together, you are going to hear some good fishing tales," he said. "I really enjoyed doing that when I first had the chance to hang around pros when I was getting into this."

Beyond the camaraderie at this event, Bertrand is ready to help the winning anglers with techniques they want to learn more about.

“If one of them wants to learn a technique or try something they have never tried, we will be there to teach them and really help them hone in on what they should be doing;  we may even teach them how to pull a prank on Justin Lucas,” laughed Bertand.

How to Get Your Submissions Noticed

Hunter Shryock, a Berkley pro and noted videographer offered some tips for those hoping to get their photo and video submissions selected.

“The biggest thing is to be yourself and not try to do something just because everyone else is doing it that way," he said. "Showcase what you like and just do your best,. Your submissions will be better, more original and you will have a better chance to win.”

How to Win

The contest will be in two phases, a group of photo challenges that will run until mid-July and then a second phase to determine the overall winner. Each of the first contests will advance five finalists to the final phase.  These finalists from each challenge will then enter a video for the second challenge to determine the four winners. These lucky anglers will receive a prize that includes an all-expense paid trip to Casscoe, Ark., in October to learn from these four professional anglers.

There are two challenges left and it is not too late to enter and try to make it to the next round.

They are as follows:

  • June 23-July 5: Favorite fishing spot
  • July 7-19: Fishing superstition

The Berkley Fantasy Fishing Camp is a unique contest that should make for an unforgettable week for the four lucky winners.  To enter, visit Berkley's Facebook page at facebook.com/berkleyfishing or berkley-fishing.com/Berkley-fantasy-fish-camp.html
