BASS CHIEF ATTENDS WHITE HOUSE MEETING

WASHINGTON, D.C. - BASS Vice President and General Manager Dean Kessel was one of 20 invited guests at a White House briefing on Friday morning.

Kessel and other national conservation leaders spent about an hour with President Bush, who Kessel said was clearly focused on conservation and natural resource issues. The meeting, which took place in the Roosevelt Room, was an opportunity for the president to brief national conservation leaders.

"It's commendable for the administration to bring additional focus to the subject of conservation and resource management," Kessel said. "The 35-year history of BASS is based on care for our natural resources."

After the half-hour meeting, Kessel and other conservation leaders were given a tour of the Oval Office.
