Annual waterfowling celebration features duck calling contests, celebrities, seminars and more.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Bass Pro Shops at the Memphis Pyramid will host Flocktoberfest, an annual hunting expo and sale, starting Friday, Oct. 6, and featuring duck calling contests scheduled for Oct. 14.

"The annual Flocktoberfest is just one of the ways Bass Pro Shops Founder Johnny Morris and his associates continue to spread the word about Ducks Unlimited and support our conservation mission," said DU CEO Dale Hall. "Come to Flocktoberfest at the Bass Pro Shops at the Memphis Pyramid, celebrate conservation and check out the Ducks Unlimited Waterfowling Heritage Center and the duck calling contests on Oct. 14."

The third annual Big Cypress National Calling Championship, the Ducks Unlimited Regional Qualifier Contest, junior and intermediate calling contests and an open duck calling contest will be held Saturday, Oct. 14.

Justin Martin and John Godwin from Duck Commander will appear Saturday, Oct. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The annual extravaganza includes free hunting seminars from industry pros including Buck Gardner, world champion duck caller and founder of Buck Gardner Calls, Brian "Pigman" Quaca, John Gordon from Banded and Avery Outdoors, DU TV Host Ashley Ward and others.

Other Flocktoberfest events include The Off-Road Championship (TORC) truck jumping and UTV dirt track demonstrations, a tailgate zone, the Super Retriever Series dog jumping competition, the World Moon Pie Eating Championship, kids activities and more.

During the month of October, Bass Pro Shops' retail stores in the United States will offer the "Round-up for Conservation" program at the register when making purchases. Those donations will be used to support DU's conservation efforts across North America, and DU will receive 100 percent of the money customers donate at the cash register. In addition, Bass Pro Shops will make a contribution to Ducks Unlimited at the end of the month matching 50 percent of the donated total.
