First Look: New from P-Line | Award Winning

P-Line has three new lines that they are bringing to the market, a new braid, a fluorocarbon and a new leader material. One of their new lines won an award at the 2016 ICAST show for best new line.

Additionally, P-Line has released a line of nets that should help anglers land the fish they catch on their fishing line.

The following is a recap of four new products to be released in the near future by P-Line.

Tactical Fluorocarbon

The P-Line Tactical is the line that won the award at ICAST. This new line stood out in a crowded line market to take home the prize of Best in Show in the fishing line category.

It is a premium Japanese fluorocarbon with a special formulation to make it more invisible than other fluorocarbon lines. It is made from the latest technology in raw materials and extrusion.

Tactical is touted for its invisibility, castability and abrasion resistance. It is also very smooth and this helps to increase casting distance as it moves through the rod guides. It feels soft and manageable to the touch and impressed ICAST voters enough to win the top prize in the category.

It is available in sizes from 6- to 20-lb test and will come in 200-yd spools. Retail cost for this new fluorocarbon is $19.99 to $29.99 per spool depending on the size of the line.

XTCB Hi-Vis Yellow Braid

The bright yellow color for braided line has become popular for anglers who like to watch their line. It helps detect light bites and stands out much better than the standard green color used in most braids. XTCB has been available in the low visibility green for a few years, but the hi-vis yellow is brand new and will be on the market soon.

The braid itself is made using eight strands that are tightly woven to keep it compact and smooth. The process that P-Line uses also ensures that it is a round braid and has good casting distance. With the smooth feel of this line, it allows for less noise and resistance as it moves through your guides.

Another key feature of this braid is that it is a Teflon coater braid. DuPont’s Teflon Surface Protector is used and gives the braid more abrasion resistance and also less friction, which result in longer casts.

The line also features a smaller diameter than many other braids on the market and the result is that anglers can use heavier line for many fishing situations. It is available in sizes 10, 15, 20, 30, 50, 65 and 80-lb test and is available in both 150 and 300-yd spools. It retails for $19.99 for a 150-yd spool and $36.99 for a spool of 300-yds.

SS Fluorocarbon Leader

While this new SS leader was designed for Salmon and Steelhead market, it may be of interest to bass anglers. The leader material is built with abrasion resistance and overall toughness in mind. Besides that, it has excellent knot strength. It would make a good leader for those bass fishing with finesse techniques all the way up to flipping and pitching as it comes in sizes from 6- to 40-lb test.

The leader comes in 100-yard spools. The line is made from the latest advancements in raw materials and extrusion technology. Like all of P-Line’s fluorocarbon lines, it is extremely tough and virtually invisible underwater.

“Shasta” Landing Net

P-Line also makes a full line of nets ranging from small bass-sized nets to giant nets for big fish. If you are looking for a new net, P-Line makes them with hoop sizes from 19” x 21” all the way up to 44” x 32”. They are all made with 6063 grade aluminum in the handle, yoke and loop for added durability.

The Shasta model is the one designed with the bass angler in mind and it features the sturdy aluminum frame and handle. It has a hoop that is 19 by 21-inches long and handle that adjusts from 26- to 44-inches.

P-Line has always been known as a producer of top quality lines and this year’s releases are no exception. Their new fluorocarbons and release of a new color for a popular braid should be a hit with bass anglers. The new lineup of nets are another product that fisherman of all species should look into.
