FLW Offers "Guaranteed Catch"

BROOKLYN CENTER, MN: FLW is casting for kids! Visit a Walmart store during National Fishing & Boating Week, June 6-14, 2015, and you could catch a bass! Well, a free Largemouth Bass Trading Card for kids from Wildlife Forever's State-Fish Art® Contest given out by FLW Ambassadors. Look for the secret code on the back, put it on your next State-Fish Art entry and get a FREE fishing lure. That's a "Guaranteed Catch"! You have to enter to win.

FLW, Title Sponsor, State-Fish Art program, helped Wildlife Forever with the baseball card sized "Bass Card" for kids visiting Walmart.

"We are proud to announce that young anglers (K-12) entering the State-Fish Art Contest will receive free fishing lures. The "Guaranteed Catch" incentive works to increase participation in the contest and engage youth in fishing," said Patterson Leeth, Vice President of Marketing, FLW. Entries must be postmarked by March 31, 2016 and mailed to Wildlife Forever to qualify.

In its 18th year, the State-Fish Art Contest is open to all students in grades K through 12. Artists winning First Place in each state, from four grade categories, K-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12, will be invited to attend the national State-Fish Art EXPO held in conjunction with the Forrest Wood Cup. Prizes, trophies, recognition and great family fun will be on-hand as the winners and families enjoy the World Championship of Bass Fishing with young artists from across the country.

Students, teachers, and parents - learn more about the contest and how to enter on the State-Fish Art website, statefishart.org, and request your free Fish On! Lesson Plan CD.

"The State-Fish Art Contest integrates science and art to educate students about fish, fishing and the joys found in an afternoon spent on a lake or stream," said Karen Hollingsworth, State-Fish Art Manager. "Each State-Fish Art entry with the Secret Code is a 'guaranteed catch' and receiving a free lure will encourage hands-on experience in the great outdoors."

Entries for the 18th Annual State-Fish Art Contest must be postmarked by March 31 and include the "secret code" to win a fishing lure. To enter students create their favorite State-Fish and write one page about its behavior, habitat, and efforts to conserve it. Complete details, including a free lesson plan for teachers and parents, are on the State-Fish Art Contest web site, statefishart.org.

"FLW is proud to sponsor the State-Fish Art Contest and introduce kids to the joys of fish and fishing," said Leeth. "The State-Fish Art Contest helps pass on our angling heritage to the next generation, and that goal is a priority for FLW."
