In an effort to stay on the cutting edge of the tournament-fishing industry, FLW Outdoors designed the new Web site with the user in mind. Visitors will immediately notice simpler online tournament registration, color coding to easily identify which tournament trail is being viewed, the latest tournament information displayed on the home page, larger photos, an improved search function, speedier navigation, the ability to search by angler in tournament results and much more.
“One of our goals in launching a newly designed site was to attract new fishing fans,” said Irwin Jacobs, chairman of FLW Outdoors. “We also wanted to make our site more accessible to the loyal fishing fans who continue to support us, to allow for them to have a more enjoyable experience while browsing our site, and to make it desirable for them to come back.”
Bass-fishing fans will be able to easily access all the latest news and standings for anglers competing in the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, the EverStart Series, the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League and the Wal-Mart Texas Tournament Trail. Those interested in professional walleye fishing will also be kept up to date on all Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Tour and Wal-Mart RCL Walleye League events and happenings.
“The new Web site will allow FLWOutdoors.com visitors to stay on top of all our professional bass- and walleye-fishing tournaments,” said Bill Petrowiak, vice president of marketing and communications for FLW Outdoors. “It also allows for much easier navigation, which better enables new visitors to the site to learn about FLW Outdoors and will also hopefully recruit new fans.”
Remaining on the new site will be FLW Live, the state-of-the-art technology introduced by FLWOutdoors.com during the Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship in September. FLW Live gives by-the-second updates of pro standings and features a photo of the angler weighing in. The site has live audio so visitors can listen to anglers’ comments as their catch weights are recorded. Constantly updated are the pro and co-angler leaderboards. Visitors are also able to search for any angler to get a specific day’s weigh-in results.
