Thanksgiving holiday special: One-day fishing/hunting combo licenses are half-price

Here’s a great way for residents and winter visitors to get the family and friends out and experience Arizona’s great outdoors.

Today (Wednesday, Nov. 23) through Sunday, Nov. 27, the Arizona Game and FishDepartment is offering a 50-percent discount on short-term (one-day) combination fishing/hunting licenses purchased online. That means only $7.50 per day for Arizona residents and $10 per day for non-residents.

Bring the kids along - youth licenses (required for ages 10-17) are only $5 and are valid for a year.

This is an ideal time to get outside and fish or hunt:

  • You can’t beat the weather in our desert regions this time of year.

  • Our core Community Fishing Program waters in the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas are stocked with trout every two weeks.

  • Trout are also being stocked in some state waters in the desert regions.

  • Arizona offers great dove hunting; the late dove season this year runs from Nov. 25 through Jan. 8.

  • Quail season is in full swing for Gambel’s and scaled quail; Mearns’ quail season begins Dec. 2. Both seasons (see pages 88-89) run through Feb. 12.

  • This is also a good time of year to hunt other small game such as cottontails(see pages 80-81) and tree squirrels (see page 78-29).

Remember, the discounted price for short-term licenses is only available when you purchase online between Nov. 23-27, 2016.
