What is the word on 2 gen Lowrance hds 8 on rebate in Feb .Also if im buying navionics premium west map would the base unit be the one to buy . Thanks Ray

get the base unit and only buy the platinum navionics chip.

If you travel at all get the Insight model, it is only $100 more and covers the entire USA and most of Canada. I use both Insight and Navionics Platinum; both have bodies of water in which one is better than the other.
