Doug,
I have a 997si c. I lost both gps and speed.
I hooked my unit up to my buddy's gps, since he has the same console mounted unit and remote puck, and it worked, so I bought a new gps puck and wiring. The gps still doesn't work.
I tried restoring the default settings, and there is no option for either speed or gps available in my display options, so I know it's not receiving info from the new puck, either.
What should I do?
Mark

Re: 997si c gps problems
Might be power supply if marginal GPS is one of the first signs that a unit is under powered it takes both Voltage and Current to properly operate a unit.

Re: 997si c gps problems
Thanks Doug.
Turns out it was the antenna. I installed a new one, and upgraded my software (the tech lady at Humminbird walked me through it step by step) and now I've got GPS and mapping again.
Life is good!
