ABA southern TOC...anyone see the prize
Hey to a chance to win a boat is great but a chance to win an aluminum boat with a 115hp engine **** i wont go out on mead with that..... god forbid the wind starts blowing. I look forward to fishing this thing every year and it just a bit of a downer to see the ABA went cheap. Ill bet they put a big nice ranger out front of the casino and not the 18ft aluminum boat. I guess if i won...i would have a nice trout boat.

Thank you for your post regarding the ABA South TOC. You are correct about Ranger giving away a brand new RT188 series aluminum boat powered with a Mercury engine on behalf of American Bass Association. These are great aluminum series bass boats that have brought a whole lot of excitment to the aluminum boat industry. Dealers have been selling many of the RT series aluminum boats these past 2 years and our customers are loving them. Now just to clarify one minor detail, the RT188 aluminum series powered by Mercury will be awarded to the winners of the ABA South TOC if they are NOT Ranger Cup qualified. Ranger Cup means that you own a Ranger boat either new or used and are register with Ranger as an owner which is a very minimal cost to do so. The winners of the ABA South TOC that ARE Ranger Cup qualified will actually then win a Ranger Z118C powered by Mercury. This is a huge incentive for current Ranger Boat owners participating in this great event. So make sure you guys/gals get signed up for Ranger Cup by going to www.rangerboats.com and register online. Congratulations to all ABA members that qualified for the ABA South TOC and Good Luck!

Did you mean to say that only Ranger Cup qualified winners will receive the boat? Or will any winner of the event win the boat and then can become Ranger Cup qualified!
Anyway, I own aYamaha G3 and have been in a Ranger 188 with the 115 Merc and it is a great boat, I will put it up against any boat of 18' or less on fishability. I have run glass boats for twenty years and the G3 for two and I like the aluminum better then all of the glass boats just due to the fact that i can run 35mph with two of us and gear, I can get into water that you are not going to take or will not take a glass boat and I drive right past the gas station and wave at the guys running the 200+ hp engines.
The Ranger 188 is a great rig and a hell of a bunch better than no boat at all! And to The Big Guy; Go win it and then upgrade to a bigger boat if you think its too small! Tell me the last fish you caught doing 60 mph!

ABA will be awarding the winner of the South TOC a brand new Ranger RT188 Series aluminum boat powered by Mercury regardless of what boat they own.
