a couple of ?'s

Post by kane-o »

i have a 520c and a 28hd interlinked, will the hds units accept the same power cords ? 2nd ?... does the new units say a hds 8 come with the cords, transducer, and gps complete ? or do you need to buy a seperate transducer? my plan is to put the hds 8 uo front and use the 28hd on the consol, until i can get a another hds 8... thanks guys...

You can use the same power cord but you will need to disconnect the NMEA cable for the HDS unit. The older units have a three wire power cable, one of these for powering the NMEA backbone. The HDS units do not support this feature. When you put the first HDS unit on and have the LCX 28c HD still on the boat, the external GPS antenna can still get power through the 28 when that power cord has both the cable for the unit and the NMEA cable connected. The HDS units do not support this feature. The NMEA backbone will need to have a power node installed once you have all HDS units.
