Don Lee Memorial Scholarship Fund Tournament Results

The inaugural Don Lee Memorial Scholarship Tournament held on Saturday, the 13th, was a tremendous success. I want to first thank the sponsors, without whom, we could not have even begun to hold this tournament: FLW, TBF, California Bass Federation, Ranger Boats, Dobyns Rods, Angler’s Marine, C & C Marine, Ultimate Bass Radio, Russo’s Marina, Future Pro Tour, Western Bass, Hook Line and Sinker, Keith Tripp, Bobby D Baits, Steve’s Custom Rods, Lowrance, Yamamoto Baits and Strike King Baits. I also want to thank Forrest Wood for the nice letter that he wrote for the participants and Don’s family. In addition a would like to thank all of you who participated and made this tournament a success!

Congratulations to our 1st place winners, Mark Crutcher and Ken Mah whose 33-4 pound limit capped by the tournament Big Fish of 10-8 pounds coasted into the lead. Andy Cuccia and Jenny West captured 2nd place with 25-8 pounds while Mark Lassagne and Angelo Alorro took 3rd with 21-4 pounds. Here is the complete standings:

The tournament was a fitting tribute to a western and national bass fishing icon, Mr. Don Lee! Throughout the tournament many of the anglers relayed stories of their history with Don and tales of how he helped them with their careers and hobby.

At the end of the tournament Don’s widow Peggy and daughter Amy presented the two California TBF High School Champions, Luke Johns and Brandon Burkey, with their Scholarship Prize in Don’s name.
