Post by XMAN »

i had my cam sensor go out, this is a very common problem with powerstrokes and on checking various forums i am not the only one--it went out at the best time--near home--if this happened to and you got it fixed, please call NHTSA @1-888-327-4236 and file a complaint, takes 5 minutes--i hear they have 32 complaints so far maybe more--thx XMAN

I have an ambulance that has a fail to start problem. It's a 2002 powerstroke and has failed to start since it was new. We are currently in Ceres at Country Ford . This is the 4th dealer to investigate this and always find nothing . We are on our 12th visit for the same problem and are contacting Ford re: The lemon.

They have pulled codes in the past for TPS and also the CPS. Neither sensor replacement has worked. Anybody have any thoughts on this ? It cranks over but will not start. After 30 minutes of sitting it starts up and purrs like a kitten till you shut her off. Not too good beings it is an ambulance!

You can go to http://www.infotraxx.com/ and search for TSB Tecnical Service Bulletions you have to pay if you want to see the entire bulletion but just finding one can help determine if there is a noted problem. I usuallly look for bulletions then call a freind with a shop to look them up and sometime with a TSB the dealer will fix it for free. It's worth a try.
