From the Foothills

John Clark's showing his 8Lb 6oz Kentucky spotted bass. She was caught in a CA.foothills lake, early in the morning of 8/14/14. John was using a top- water imitation trout lure. He said it was one of the best strikes ever. The fish propoised showing half of its body, while engulfing his lure. She was caught right after the full moon cycle, and had feed well. She looked to be full of eggs and released after the photos were taken. Special thanks to Jessica for helping out with the photo's.

It's very unlikely that that fish came from New Melones. As you can see, the trees surrounding the shore are all pine trees, New Melones has mainly oaks and bull pines. Also, New Melones seems have a lower water level than the lake pictured.
