Good Striper Report

Post by Luckyfisherman »

Went out to the lake yesterday mornning and stayed from 6am - 645pm. Caught 4 stripers. Two 27 inch. One 32 inch. one 20 inch. All fish were caught on chovies near shore under the green algae booming up in mid day, except for the 20 incher was caught on a big hammer, 4inch, bait fish color swimbait. I fished goose head. Will post picks of the fish once I get them from my cuzzins iphone.

We had a couple were the line broke off. I tried the fake fish jerk/rip bait in black dog shad color rigged on a 1 oz. jig head and hooked a big one, but the line broke when the fish got close to the shore. I should of retied my lure. Yesterday was one of the best fishing days this year so far. Nothing but big fish yesterday.

These stripers were caught in mid day in the growing algae. I notice that the stripers were hiding in there as well as loads of shad and minnows. All stripers were caught like 10 to 20 ft away from the shore thrown right into the algae.
