HDS-5 replacement

Post by mark poulson »

I have on of the first generation HDS 5 units on my bow that died.
I'd like to replace it with a larger unit, like the Hook 7.
I really don't want to have to try and snake another power cord up from my console.
Can I use the same power cord?

When I put a 5 on the bow of my old champ I upgraded to I believe 10 gauge, following what the book said. Has to do with how far the run is. Going to replace it with a 7, sure it will be more than enough

Thanks.
When I opened the bow access panel, I wiggled all the connections, and now the graph works again.
Whew! I really didn't want to spend another $500+ just to see water temps and depth.

If it ever does crap out the existing power cord with the blue connecter will fit a hook 7 but not the new hook2 series.
