Joe's TOC

Post by Dan P »

Getting pretty excited for the TOC in a few weeks. Can't wait to hang out with the TS family. Who's all going? When are you going up? Lance and I will be up Thursday and were ready to put a few back Thursday night.

I've been there once......................... :P

But seriously if you have never stayed in the KOA Kabins they are nothing more than wooden tents. They have electricity and beds, no refrigerator. You will need to bring a big cooler, cooking utensils, sleeping bags and pillows. Bring your own towels as the showers are accross the road behind the kabins. Bring drinking water! There is a small charcoal BBQ pit in front of the kabin and they are fun to hang out at in the evenings.

So who is going? Is anyone going to post a list of who qualified, etc.? There were 44 teams that competed this year.

I'm bringing a small fridge that I have in the garage, this will be our cooling unit for food and drink. Dan and I will be using an ice chest for beer containment, the image of pulling a ice cold beer from a cooler filled with ice is far better. Something about plunging your fist into icy ice water with a smile on your face, the cold water run down your arm as you crack open the brew. Yes, its the dawn of a new era, you are a man, and you are at the Top Stick Joe's TOC.

Now if we can only find a way to keep a drunk Ray L from streaking across the KOA

Yeah.............that's right. All alcohol will be confiscated by me. The penalty for possesion will depend on the quality of the alcohol for example
Beer..................DQ
Good Beer..........maybe DQ'd
Quality Scotch....(no well scotch please)Severe reprimand
Patron...............two pound adder to total weight :D

Just kidding, you all know that alcohol of any kind in the boat during official tournament days, that includes official prefish days, is subject to disqualification. If you are caught with even empty containers in your boat during prefish you can loose your first days catch. Official prefish days are Thursday September 10th and Friday September 11th.

Good for you Lance.........That's the way to look at it.

I'm glad it's not me because I would be working my big fat butt off prefishing, studying Topo maps, calling friends, looking for the next advantage. I admire you being able to sit back and relax like that. I would be worked up but I'm not as confident as you are, I know what Margarita can do.

Jeff.....Sorry I did'nt get back to ya....I am having major headaches with the home computer and the att was the right e-mail addy.

I don't think I'm going to far out on a limb here but personally:

I think everyone in this circuit is always gunning for YOU. You have come a long long way from the little geen Tri-hull days and I figure your team to win this thing. I know your heads in the game so just go out and execute and let the fish tell ya their story for that day. Things change but your time on the water and in the front seat should put you in the top. Go fish'n and have some fun while your at it.

Ok so this is how it works. Beer is good because it builds confidence. I'm sure you all know that you'll do things while under the influence of "beer" that you other wise would'nt do normally. It hides masks worries and helps stress go away. So drink beer, feel confident....its very simple. So let me break it down further.

We all know that Jeff Jue is on them, that's no secret. His ability to adapt to changing fish is almost KVD like. Some say he was blessed by Mother Teressa herself, others say HE was one of the chosen few taken by space aliens and gifted with this ability. So, with this in mind....I drink Beer to get confident

Jim Basham is also on them and in a big way. But his stealthy pre-fish plan went over like spreading Chunky Skippy on Wonder bread. Never the less Jim is heading to Santa Margarita is his head held high and a swollen bag of confidence. So, with this in mind....I drink Beer to get confident.

So, I'm worried because of Jedi Master Jim and Ninja Jeff Jue....So I drink beer
