Hi Ken,

I just got my unit back from lowrance after the dimming issue. Works fine except I'm noticing that the map on the GPS seems to go blank when I zoom in to waypoints. It will go blank for about 10secs when I get under 200ft distance then load. Didn't do this before and it doesn't do it everytime. I'm using the base lowrance map and not a navionics chip. Any ideas?

Check the software in the unit. It is more than likely not the same unit and the tech back at Lowrance may not have updated the software before it was sent out, (we are not all perfect, but we try). If the unit is an HDS unit then the "application" should be 3.5. If it is 2.5 or less, go to www.lowrance.com and follow the instructions to update the unit. In the original software version we were asking the processor to do too many things at one time and this would slow it down. 3.5 helped this issue.

Keep an eye on that web site because there will be another update for the HDS units to speed up the map loading. It should be out sometime in March.
