From what I've heard, the tournaments are ran by the son of a known/caught tournament Cheater.
this known cheater also fishes these events.
I was told this guy was banned from tournaments here in California in the early to mid 90's

Hey guys,
I wanted to clear some things up from what is being said above. 1st thing is my name is Nick sanches and my dad is Ron sanches. There is a bunch of rumors that are saying my dad is a cheater and everything. My dad has never cheated in a tournament and has never been convicted of cheating. If you cheat in a tournament you will be charged with a felony and you will have your fishing license revoked for life. Which neither has my dad had. Also because of these rumors we have go pro footage of everything we do while fishing each of our tournaments. If we do well at all we post the footage on youtube and our facebook page. There is footage of all the fish we caught during our new years shoot out at eastman on youtube currently. These tournaments are ment to have a day of fun on the water. I run my tournaments with respect to the sport and other competors. Everything is 100% payback only thing we pull out is the permit fee that is it. I hope to see you guys out on the water. Have a nice day
Nick

Hi guys,
Diesel guy you have some accusations that I feel don't add up to me. First thing is the Department of Fish and Game accusation, if the DFG were to go through all of the trouble to do a fish scale test why would they not bring charges on to Ron. I am sure if that test were to actually take place it would have cost a large amount of money and time to do so. If they were to use their resources for this test they would have followed through with charges. Because they would have had him on not only cheating in a tournament, which is a felony, but also illegally transporting fish. Secondly, you go to say that you know a guy that made "claims" he made the secret compartment for him. You saying "claims" makes me believe that you do not a 100% believe what he is saying. So in case that would be spreading another rumor to add to these horrible rumors that is also getting spread around. As for the we'd situation at lake Shasta he was actually dq'd for that tournament but he took it to court and won the case. He was never convicted or had a verdict saying that he had cheated. If anyone wanted to meet up and we can pull his record I would gladly do so. He does not have one thing on his record. I have researched what would happen if someone cheated in a tournament. There is a couple case a few recently and a few back in the day. Every case was pursued to the fullest extent. Each individual that was convicted had there fishing license revoked, had fines and it was on theirr record. Also yes he did well in tournaments and was also very cocky when he did. Which how this all started. He got under people's skin which then turned to rumors. We all have played the one game were you get 10 people in a line and the 1st guy whispers "the sky is blue" to the next person ear then that guy whispers it into the next person's ear by the time you get to the end of the line it goes to "The sky is red and cats and dogs are falling from it". Also back then there was no way from him to prove that tbese rumors were false. But know everything fish that is caught, every cast we make is 100% recorded. If someone would like to after the tournament would like to sit down and watch the full 8hrs and some odd minutes of footage with me I would have no problem doing so. It will be a 100% out there. So if you would please stop spreading rumors and let the group of people that are spreading the rumors to stop it would be appreciated. I don't want to take this into any further action. Also for anyone reading this I have been aware of these rumors so that is why my tournaments are completely transparent. They run professionally and made for us to have fun. I hope that these rumors do not deter anyone from coming to RiverRat tournaments and have some fun. Hope to see you all out there on March 11th on the reopened lake Don Pedro.

Every statement that you made is hear say which is rumor. He never stole or cheated in any form. If there was proof that he cheated he would be a 100% charged. This happened over 20 years ago why didn't anyone charge him then. It's because he didn't cheat. It is people that don't like him and they way he presented himself. In which I totally understand, if a guy was totally cocky and won a tournament in any kind people would say stuff about him. This all started with a rumor that as I previously stated that got blown out of proportion. As a tournament director, if I found out that someone is cheating in my tournaments I would punish to the full extent of the law. There are multiple fisherman that have cheated and they paid the penalty. I don't understand how you say the Shasta tournament doesn't make any sense? Department of Fish and Game is the one in charge of charging people cheating in a fishing tournament. If fish and Game was to do the research to find out he was cheating then why wouldn't they charge him? That's what they were there for right? Is to catch him cheating? So if your statement above is correct then it doesn't make sense to why they wouldn't charge him. Also if you wouldn't mind what is your name? Here is my phone number if you would like to contact me (559)259-0289. Time to go out and catch some fish since that is what this forum was designed for. Tight lines and hope to see everyone on March 11th

You are making this issue about me because you are trying to get my tournament "black balled". You came out saying stay away. As for me knowing how he was cocky. It is because he is my dad and I know he was back then. I am currently in talks with the Department of Fish and wildlife and they are looking up if there was any test done. What you are saying is completely false. I have heard some rumors and everyone of them is different. Because like I said before one person made something up and then people started running with it in other ways. So if you wouldn't mind what is your name?

Okay that is fine since this is the way this going I would like to get some names of the accusers. Since you are certain of your words you should have no reason in stateing your name. I am contacting my lawyer. It is sad to see how a friendly tournament can turn into all this. There is not any proof against him besides hear say and it is being used to slander his name and also slandering the name of my tournament organization. I also contacted the person in charge of this forum.

:D Hey guys I remember the cheating scandal it was years ago, we all make mistakes and enough time has passed that old skeletons need not be resurrected. To cheat in a pay event and collect from that cheating is a crime and could be prosecuted if a proper investigation is conducted and that there is witnesses, physical evidence etc. most tournament organizations back then did not have the resources available to pursue criminal charges, the time and cost would be too much so decisions rested with the tournament director and who he answers to, therefore most of the time the accused got black balled and nothing further was done. I am keeping an open mind and plan on fishing some of the river rat events and think they will be fun....just my two cents don't want to cause any problems so give those guys a break.

It says right on the Diesel posts that they are being edited by Diesel some say 2 times some say 3 times. So whats going on Diesel writes a post then changes it to a laughing face after it is responded to? Feel like I am missing out on half of this discussion.

I did not delete anything that was said by diesel. He edited the post himself for his own reasons. I left all of my post on the forum. But on a side note bonds flat is still closed by the spillway. So you have to come the back way to Fleming. Hope to see you guys on saturday.
