Post by elfish16 »

Lets get a count on who takes the fight on Jan 31st.

I personally gotta take BJ Penn to win the fight!

Tough call. If Penn has gotten into serious shape then I'd go with him. If he's not taken it seriously in the gym, as he sometimes doens't, then I'd have to go with Georges.

Tank Abbott!

GSP better striker but BJP has a way of gettin it done. In this day and age with the training these guys do it is anyone's game. I like the old days where there no weight classes and big Samoans in skirts were getting their teef knocked out from scrawny dudes..

GSP with a submission, say a rear naked choke in the third round when Penn gasses out.

Eric,

I'm with you on this one. I think Penn will win. Why wouldn't he take this one seriously? This is as good as it gets.

I just watch the replays of BJ Penn and George St Pierre and the fight was close – 28-29; 29-28; 28-29 split decision! BJ had blood all over Pierre in the first round. Pierre had 4 take downs in the last two rounds. Pierre has good take down skills but Penn is made of rubber and is the striker.

I’m going with BJ Penn

Tunaman – can I watch it over your house!

After watching the weigh in and seeing that BJ most likely took his training camp very seriously, I'm picking BJ. He looks to be in good shape. He came in 2 pounds under the limit at 168. He did not resemble a cabbage patch doll at all. :D

BJ by submission in the third after outstriking GSP over the first two rounds.

Well since BJ's last fight was at 155, I would hope 170 wouldn't be a challenge. GSP in the first now is my vote, inside info from the bacon!!!

Hmm...I think a lot of people are taking away from bj Penn because of his past...remember he has destroyed his past 3 fights!

WOW...BJ Penn was awful! He never even showed up...showed that he had a bad training camp for sure. He did NOTHING in that fight from his feet or the ground. He gave up trying after the 2nd round knowing he lost the first two.

You ask me, Penn is in trouble in his next fight at 155 if he is facing Florian!!! I like Penn but last night made me start realizing he is completely unpredictable! he's a stellar fighter but if you slack in training you will get destroyed!

GSP was incredible last night....completely dominated the fight!

WOW!

GSP in MMA is going to be like Tiger Woods in golf, 100% everyday-all day to be the best. No more part time fighters are going to be "the best". Too much new talent and athletes coming into MMA that were born with "Bigger, Faster and Stronger" in there youth. BJ was out maned and out classed in this fight. GSP needs to go up in weight and fight spider to be the "best ever" or at least talked about in the fashion. Penn and Florian would be cool but I want GSP and Spider!!!!!

Someguy....I completely agree with you. Guida straight won but was boring, Machida was the only person out top kill, Penn never showed up and the others were slow!!!

Wish I could get my money back for those fights.... :?
