Wildfire Tiger question for everyone
Wildfire Tiger question for everyone
Ever since I was a kid, I always liked the way widlfire tiger looked. Being from the west coast, I have only tried it out here in California. But this color is not a fad, It has been around for a long, long time. But I have never had so much as a bite anytime I used a lure in this color.
So, do any of you use this color and have any of you found it to be a "go to" color for certain waters or situations on Nor Cal waters? I'm just interested to find out of anyone else has had the same lack of sucess with the color or if I should give it another try.

If yer fishin' the Delta, get it in a Speed Trap and throw it at high tide up to the rocks and down through the trough into the weedline... Not alot of big fish on it but good numbers of 2-3 lbers...

My experience with the Firetiger crankbaits;
I have found that in the early spring or late winter, whatever you want to call it. The firetiger color is one of the first crankbait colors that both largemouth and smallmouths hit...Usually when the water first starts to warm out of the low fifties..and when there is both clear and murky water mixing together...I don't have a answer as to why, just my twenty plus years experience..The other day as I was getting my crankbait box ready for the coming season, the first color I put in the box was a Mann's 10 plus firetiger...Crank it real slow and pause it as it enters or leaves a cloudy area...Funny how you choose now to ask the question...I wouldn't leave home without it...

Fire Tiger is my #1 color here.
I fish in stained/dingy water and a firetiger speed trap is my best catching and go to bass catcher. It catches em slow/bumping and fast retrieve, just depending on how the fish want it that day!

Thank you everyone for the great responses. Like I said, I always liked the way it looked, but could never get a bite on it. I'll be giving it a good workout over the next couple months on the delta. I don't recall trying it in colder muddy water, but you all have definatly inspired me to give it another shot and see if I can develop a pattern for when to use it. Those were the type of answers I was hoping for.
