CLEAR LAKE, IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO SIGN UP, LET'S FISH

Post by Bob Myskey »

I don't think it can get much better than the action you can have on Clear Lake in March. Fish your strengths, it will all work, swimbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, senko's, drop shot's, you name it, the fish are healthly, they are biting and they are fighting hard. COME JOIN IN:

1.--Won Teams, this Saturday 3rd, out of Konocti Harbor resort, ( I am in)
2.--THE VANITY CUP, Sat & Sun, 10th & 11th, over 55 boats in now with over a 100 expected. Hopefully it will draw enough to get the backer's to want to come back again next year and offer this type of an event to us. call 916-768-0938 for info, (I am in)
3.--20TH ANNUAL HOLDER FORD TOURNAMENT, Sat & Sun, 17th & 18th, a fun event, two days, teams, 100 percent payback to the field. Formerly the Northlake ford tournament, call Richard Hoover at 800-635--8331 for details and entry info. (I am in)
4.--ABA team Event, Sat the 24th, out of Lakeport, ( I am in)
5.--BASS ELITE SERIES:, if you just watched the Classic, you will have a chance to watch these guys live in action. They will be pounding the water the week of the 25th with the final three days the 29th through the 31st. Maybe we can stir up some controversy?? (I hope to be in the back seat)

Come to Clear Lake, you have an opportunity to take my money, no time to guide, JUST FISH, and yes I will practice courtsey, will try to treat everyone like I like to be treated, and if I don't make the Elite Series and one of them want's to fish water I am on, you can bet they will get it. ""Never judge another person until you have walked a mile in their shoes"" see you on the water.

Bob, is the 55 boat number written in stone. There's all kind of numbers being thrown around. Harris doesn't seem to want to give an accurate accounting. Also, do you know what kind of Quads and gun are being given. Didn't want to put you on the spot but you seem to know more about it than anyone.

Who is this Boardwalk Group And Pier Resorts that are underwriting this tournament ? I can't find any info on them. The whole thing looks kind of bush league to me.
Is it 55 boats or 55 indivduals that have commited ?

Come on Dan,
Harris is doing everything thing he can to promote this Huge event.
It's a big thing for Clearlake. The whole community will benefit.
I was at the Hook last week and Gene and the Rat's were excited.
I always said; "My hats off to the TD's in this business. Couldn't pay me to enough to put up with all the BS."
What good is a number anyway?
Would you fish it if Vince called you up personally and gave you the number of entries????

Seig,

Will you call me the night before and let me know how many Misty Girls will be there? Thanks :)
Don't be lame. It's just fishing; you are not the new mesiah you know! Check your attitude at the door Mr. Spinners on da boat trailer.

I was asking because three friends of mine from Santa Cruz asked me to find out any information for them as they could be interested. To answer your question, No I would not fish it if Vince called me as at 70 I've put my time in fishing for money. Now I fish the fun tournaments to have fun and not worry about the money. Ford tournament who I will be fishing with my Daughter Sandi if I can get on fish and the weather isn't to bad. Champion tournament as it is a great fun tournament. I wasn't bashing anybody, just trying to get some facts.

Brian,
If if there was another TD...You still wouldn't be able to catch fish on Clearlake, Just stay on McClure
Dave,
Don't worry about how many Misty's are coming...you already have a beautiful gal at home.
Dan,
Just have your buddies call Vince for themselves. We don't have to many people trying to make big events like this happen for the average Joe like you and me to often on Clearlake.
See you soon...Buddy.

Hey Dan, here is what I know for sure. Vince Harris called me to say he was sending out my confirmation, which I got. He said he had 55 teams signed up and in, and from the calls he was getting, he expected over a 100 teams to participate.
A year ago I guided a fellow from Canada who was here to check out the lake and said he ran the biggest Walleye tournament in Canada and was going to put on a big team event here on Clear Lake. We spent a day on the water and I showed him the facilities available and gave him the names of people he should contact locally, Ie: Chamber director, marketing directors for Konocti Harbor resort and the Casino, etc.
I take people at their word until they prove me wrong. I am fishing this tournament because I love to fish, love to compete and would like to see an event like this work for all of us. I also would not mind winning a chunk of cash or a new car. I don't know what type of guns are part of the prize but I promise you if I win them, you will get a hell of a deal on them since the only type of hunting I do is for bass. I saw the car at the ISE show in Sacramento at Vince's display, 2nd place would not be bad. Hope this helps for your friends who wanted more info. Later, Myskey
