Delta food?
Delta food?
I know a lot of you know your way around the delta, so I am looking for some info. I am new to the area and only been there a couple times. I wanted to go out this sunday, and my girl wants to go with me. I figured its supposed to be a real nice hot day so it should be fun.
I was wondering if any of you know of some place we could dock the boat up around lunch time and get a bite to eat? I don't know much of the delta so anyplace is fine. I will probably lunch either at B&W or Ladd's. So anywhere around or between those areas. I'll probably end up fishing somewhere close to the lunch area, so it would be a bonus if there were some fish in the area. (Gotta show the girl why I "waste" so much money on this fishing stuff, hopefully I can catch something.
I just read a couple boats about all the practicing for the FLW touny. Is it going to be real crowded? or will it still be worth it to go out there instead of somewhere else like Berryessa?
Thanks

Re: Delta food?
If you're launching at Ladd's then you should consider tieing up at Lost Isle for lunch...it's too early for the ski/wakeboard crowd so it should be ok there.
(But you never know: there may be a wet tee-shirt contest going on for your lunchtime bonus...)

Re: Delta food?
Just stop at anywhere on March Lane afterwards. Every major restaraunt is there from Red Lobster to Tony Romas.
If you need to stop on the water, Herman and Helens is good for a cheese burger, and the drive over to Orowood is not that far to go get some Okie Tacos.
Good luck out there!

Don't be lame. It's just fishing; you are not the new mesiah you know! Check your attitude at the door Mr. Spinners on da boat trailer.
Re: Delta food?
I would suggest you tie up at Korth's - a few minutes down river from B&W before you hit the San Joaquin.

You could go to Garlic Bros in the Back of 14 mile. They have docks and slips you could tie up at and the food is pretty good too. But i do second Herman and Hellens for there burgers or steak Sand.

Re: DO NOT!!
Do not take your daughter to Lost Isle. The food there is very expensive and not very good. It more of a bar then a place to eat. The wet tee shirt contests are much closer to strip shows.
Up in that part of the Delta there are not many places to eat on the water. Some are closed during the off season. Hopefully someone who fishes up there knows of a place. Last time out we tried Herman's and Helen's and they were closed. There are several places over at Bethel Island, but it is a bit of a drive. The Rusty Porthole, Lundborg's Landing, Orwood (Near Discovery Bay), and The Paradise Bar and Grill are all good choices to dock and eat.
What I do with my son is pack a lunch and stop at one of the beaches. Be careful, it will be a zoo on the Delta this weekend.
