STRIPER GONE WIDE F,N OPEN AT CASTAIC

Post by dodoman »

WE finally arrived at the lake, for the first time.
we motored the rental towards the spillway, and spotted boils inside the coves.
we u turned the boat and throttled in with 4in hudds ( shad ) and got slammed.
it was a school of l.m.b............lol
went on to the next cove and IT JUST BROKE LOOSE.
5 TO 10 LB RANGE STRIPERS WERE ALL AROUND OUR BOAT,.
we managed to land near limits for 2 , and released then all to fight another day.
the shad color baits are best.
there plenty of live shads are over the lake.
bring your net!!!!!

STILL DONT KNOW HOW TO POST PICTURES !!!!
got some nice ones to show.

How are you catching the shad? I seine? (sp) I will be hitting Castaic this week to see if I can match my 25 pound striper I just caught last month in Pennsylvania!

I imagine you were using a sinker. What kind of rig is best for the Striper at Castaic? Thanks!
