new hunter....
new hunter....
I'm about to step into the world of hunting...I'm going to be hunting upland bird for the time being (pheasant). I'm 24 years old and my only time behind a trigger has been with an M-16 (Army vet). I've been looking at a Remington 870 Express mag 12 gauge. Is this gun a good gun to start? I looked on the Remington web page and seen that the gun was located in the youth section...the guy at the store told me it was a good gun for me to hunt most types of birds. What do you guys think. Is this a gun that I should let the kids buy or is it a gun that could really do me some good, espeically as a newer hunter?
Re: new hunter....
Nothing wrong with a 870. They are reliable, cheap and should last forever. The 870 is a pump shotgun. Most law enforcment agency's carry 870's so that should show you how reliable they are....I have one (that I won at a dinner, and its a 20 guage). Decent guns. Not a bad gun to start with....
