Where are all the good boat deals?

Post by Reelfish »

I have been looking over the last 2-3 months to trying to pick up a used 20'+ Ranger or Champion (1995-00) since I moved to the area. I have tried craigslist and other websites. The ones that I have found are way overpriced. My question is where are all the good deals? Are people just holding on to them b/c they know they can't get true value in this economy?

Well if your not afraid to take a road trip you can probably find what you want. Last April, almost a year ago, I bought a 2008 Ranger Z-520 Etec/250 with less than 1 hour run time (loaded) with 5 years of motor warranty FOR $40k EVEN! I will admit this was a sweet deal and I had to drive an awful long way to get it ~ but price a new one or even a local (used) 2008 and you will get my point.

Take your time, the country is full of used boats and you will find a deal to your liking.
Try these to start.

Just have to look and jump on the good deals when they pop up because they are not up long..

I bought a 1999 518VX with 200 Optimax for $11,800 and the motor had 154 hours on it. Sweet boat.

2006 Z-19 with 225 Etec $25,800
2006 Z-20 with 225 pro xs $26,000

picking up a 2006 Z19 with 225 Etec HO but this boat is new, just dealer left over... Picking it up for $31,000. Gotta get it next week.

There are tons of deals out there.

What kind of a deal are you looking for, Rangers hold there value better than most, you wont find a 2000 Ranger for $5000 probably not a 1995 20' for that price either.

You are right! they hold value EXTREMELY well. We sold out 1985 385V 3 years ago and we sold it for $9,000....

Rangers are hard to get too cheap..but I am noticing some pretty decent deals! It all depends on price. I know someone had a Skeeter on here for a very good price and it was a 20ft + boat!

On behalf of the poster BUMP. I dont know what type of REALLY good deal you want. Boats are being let go for cheap right now compared to when I purchased my used boat.

Contact steve at mossdale boats. I think he has a ranger in that age class that is for sale. The link to their website is in my signature.
