Palin steps down as Governor of AK

Post by Greg_Cornish »

So, who was second on your list for 2012, Marty?

I guess politics was to tough for the lady moose shooter.

Rumor has it she is trying to steal some lime light from Michael Jackson's funeral.

I heard she'll reconsider if Letterman apologizes again.

Funny stuff. So Marty. you were hoping they'd win then John McCain would have a heart attack? Whoa!

That would have left Nancy Pelosi as president. Looks like the election turned out perfect for you republicans after all.

Hmm... I sense a scandal brewing.

Could it be that yet another self-righteous conservative hypocrite is about to be exposed?

LOL I just had to turn on Hate Radio this afternoon to see what the conservatives are saying about it. Some guy named Mike who I never heard of is host. Most every caller figures she stepped down to prepare her run for president. If that's the case, she has a lot of time to read a sh*tload of newspapers for the next Katie Couric interview.

Wouldn't it be a tradgedy if she went to all the trouble of reading newspapers and no-one asked?

Well, after listening to the radio I think both democrats and republicans have something in common. We all agree, we hope Sarah Palin is the next Republican Presidential Candidate.

after watching several office holders run for office and not take care of their job.
Maybe she thought the right way to do it was give up the job to allow someone else to take care of the people of alaska while she did what she thought was right

how about Mccain ,Obama,Biden and even Palin,Palin came in close to the end but this eliction and others before it ,have seen politians spend more and more time on getting elected than on doing their job.
Just maybe if she is going to make a run, she should be comended for doing it the right way.
Lets face it if she runs unlike a lot of others, if she loses she doesnot have her day job to go back to.

McCains back in the senate after losing, most others went back to public office after losing. She sealed her fate, IF she does run its win or go home
I would comend that not make fun of it.

Woo so much gleam Greg – don’t pee in your pants or should I say bag? You liberals have been saying it for the last 6 months that the GOP is dead. You guys have not been paying attention to what I have been writing – I agree with you but the Democrats are also on the chopping block.

We vote for Republicans and get bigger government and more spending. We vote for Democrats and get bigger government and more spending. Today both parties purchase votes and campaign cash by boasting about the pork they’ve secured for their pet projects or the billions they’ve passed along to their powerful political allies. Our political leaders have become nothing more than parasites who feed off our sweat and blood.

Look for Sara Palin to run on a third party ticket and all you can do is talk about Bush – look around you and open your eyes!

Probably the only thing I disagree with you about. I predict she will begin her bid for the 2012 presidential election. Unshackled by the constraints of the Governorship and the sniping of the left. In 2012 we will have a Rock Solid Conservative vs. The Ultimate Statist.

It's not like I am quitting and running from something, I am moving and I will most likely still watch this forum but won't post near as much. Just like when I moved here from Florida I had several forums I posted on often but I dropped them all except 1 and still posted on that 1 on occassion.

I mean no one knows why she is quitting except her, but it sounds like the heat is getting to her. I mean 12 ethics investigations in 2 1/2 yrs, and I bet most of those were before she was a VP candidate. Look what they did to Bill Clinton with Kenneth Star, it would have been easy and most likely better for Clinton to resign but being the person he is he kept going.

I just can't imagine a president which she easily could have been quitting because of too much pressure. I think it is evident that she does not have the ethics, morals or backbone to be president and any one with half a brain would notice that..............ok, right wingers excluded :D .

It's simple Palin did what she felt was BEST for the PEOPLE OF ALASKA and HER FAMILY. She stated that plain as day if you listened and understood her press conference on Friday.

It's actually ironic, Palin is demonstrating the type of political "change" the majority voted for in the past election. Serve the people, not yourself or your party.

On the other hand; the incompetent, rookie in the Whitehouse fooled just about everyone with his "words and speeches" - there's no change there at all, other than complete and utter partisanship - "I WON. WE WON."

Here are a few questions for the neocons....

1. How serious is the scandal?

2. When will the scandal go public?

3. Does the scandal involve sex or drugs or both?

4. Is slutty Sarah having an affair?

5. Is the first dude having an affair?

6. Has someone uncovered evidence that Slutty Sarah covered up Brist-Ho's first pregnancy and claimed the baby (Trig) as her own?

7. Has Brist-Ho's baby daddy's drug pusher momma somehow implicated the Palins' in her illegal drug web?

The possibilities are virtually unlimited....I hate to see anyone dragged through the mud, but in this case if a good mud bath will keep the slutty neoconservative-born again-do as I say, not as I do, fascist republican poster girl out of the oval office and in the moose woods I say BRING ON THE MUD

Marty,

Why are you obsessed with disrespecting the American Flag....Your first move was to violate federal law by wearing the flag as a shirt and now you suggest using it as part of some strange/kinky neocon sexual practice....

I have some questions for you since you area a proud member of the GOP....

Why do you hate America and her proud flag?

Why are republicans so obsessed with sex?

Does the republican sexual obsession stem from a lack of sexual activity and experience or is it an offshoot from the fact that most female members of the GOP look like G W Bush's mama Babra (Aka George Washington in drag)?

Does Slutty Sarah's appeal to the neocon masses stem from the fact that they garner satisfaction by mentally visualizing themselves as being dominated by her in an intimate way?

Is it this republican obsession with sex that caused Slutty Sarah to cover up Brist-Ho's first child or was Sarah just too ashamed to admit that her daughter had followed in her own footsteps ie slutting around and ending up pregnant out of marriage?

Unbelivable. I have seen her referred to as a slut here. I didn't know being a wife and mother is known as a slut now. I have seen her being refered to as a do as I say do, christian. Hmmm. She is a chritian, but as a governor, she worked with both sides of the aisle and especially took on several key issues with the LGBT groups in Alaska. She quits, most likely because she's either sick of personal attacks against her family, or possibly going another direction, instead of public office, and all that can be said is more unfounded personal attacks, hoping she's going down in flames. Gee, I wonder why the mother of 5 children would want out? You guys are pathetic. You're literally scared to death of a woman who stands for what is supposed to be right in this country, and isn't affraid to say it. Instead, you back women like Feinstein and Boxer and Pelosi? Spoon fed, filthy rich, plastic surgery faced, phoney *** politicians, through and through. Man, have we got our priorities screwed up in this country. I don't agree with her leaving office early, and if I voted for her, I would feel abandoned. However, I dont live there, and really, it ain't none of my damned business why she's leaving. That's between herself, and her family. But oh no, you all are just so sure its some kind of scandal......she's a slut, she's dirty somehow, she's some lying *** christian, neoconservative. This is why we keep coming up with the same kind of phoney *** losers we do....ON BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE. Because if someone real has something to say, the media, the powers to be of the the two card monty system, and WE THE SHEEPLE cut them off at the knees. Why? Mostly because we like the dirty laundry, but, also because we are so busy buying into the R vs. D argument, we don't even stop and listen to what any of these people are really saying. She lowered taxes in her state, and got the legislature to balance the budget.......Hmmmmm. sure wish we could get that here in calif. right now....DONT YOU? She supported old fashioned family ideals..........Hmmmmm. Sure wish we had more of that here in glorious Cali. DONT YOU? Her family are small business folks, who live in her state. Can you name one of our lovely current or past govenors that can make that claim. I can't think of one.........on either side....they are all career politicians, spoon fed from cradle to grave. But, you're right, she's a f-ing slut, who deserves to get lambasted in the media, by blood thirsty media goons with an agenda to push. Her daughter deserves to be refered to as a whore on national tv, and she should be made fun of, since she likes the outdoors.....fishing and hunting. Oh, and don't forget.......she's got a handicapped child, anyone want to attack her for that? Is that her fault too? Or, is that where we draw the line? Maybe her butt is too big? Maybe her glasses too nice? Her clothes cost too much? Maybe, just maybe..........she said too much that hit home....and it scared alot of people........Rebublicans AND Democrats. Maybe, just maybe, you all just witnessed the govenment-media complex tearing down a decent human being, who ran for office with good intentions....probably wasn't perfect, and had to go......to make sure we never break up this two card monty game they all got us playing? Hmmmmm.

Take that flag...er...Marty's shirt or whatever you guys are calling it these days off your face so you can read what is being posted.....

It's your boy Marty that started busting out with the kinky sexual remarks concerning Old Glory....I've seen good American's die for that flag...Stop hating America and stop disrespecting our proud banner....It shouldn't be used as clothing as per federal law and it certainly shouldn't be used during republican sexual rites.....

You are a troll and a very stupid troll at that.

A shirt designed to LOOK like a flag is perfectly fine and quite acceptable. Marty wears a shirt which resembles our great flag. He is not wearing a flag fashioned into a piece of clothing you imbecile. There is a distinct difference that only a troll like you would choose to overlook.

Look at it this way. No more Bush, no more Palin so what will the democrats have as cover for their passing the largest tax increases in global history? Might be nice for someone else to step up and organize those television commercials for next year showing the speeches of Obama and Pelosi then showing what they actually did. Those middle Americans who voted for change are getting wise to the betrayal and everyone is getting tired of the blame Bush garbage. If the Cap and Trade and Healthcare for all bills pass and this economy tanks harder, which it will, the voters are going to vote out all incumbents and force a do-over. I could care less about Palin.

Some scrunity !?!?!?!?!?!

You cannot be serious.

Most of us would consider this outright harassment especially given the frivilous nature of some of these "complaints".

Hmm, I know she had to repay the state travel expenses for her kids from one of these complaints, that does not sound frivilous. Also, the complaint of how she got her ex brother in law fired sure does not sound frivilous...........does it?

You mean this one:

"Complaint contended Palin abused her power by charging the state when her children traveled with her. The personnel board found no wrongdoing, but in a Feb. 23 settlement Palin agreed to reimburse the state about $10,000 for costs associated with 10 trips found to be of questionable state interest among 72 travel authorizations studied."

No wrongdoings and yet she still paid what she felt was proper. I wonder how many other typical politicans would have done the same?

And this one:

"Alaska lawmakers launched an investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power when she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan over his refusal to let go a state trooper involved in a contentious divorce with Palin's sister. Stephen Branchflower, a special counsel leading the investigation, concluded Oct. 10 that Palin violated a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain. The firing itself was deemed lawful since Monegan was an at-will employee."

Firing was deemed lawful. Curious that her alleged state ethics law violation wasn't pursued any further.

She has clearly been harassed. There's no denying that given the sheer volume and nature of these complaints.

Dave you are full of it – step back and be honest with yourself. When you come on here you want to be believable and not outright fabrications that this normal for all politicians.

Take time and read this http://westernbass.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51207&f=8 and rebut that with facts. You will not because you know that I’m right!

If you think I am going to read a cut and paste job that long your crazy. Post a article from a legitamate news source and I will read it.

I think I heard there was about 15 ethics complaints against Palin and Stockoption pointed out 2 and neither one of those is frivolous. One she ended up paying for travel expences, which is like admitting guilt in my opinion. And before you start you whining about that, I am sure you think MJ was a child molester because he paid off the family of the accuser so don't try that route with me and these are basically the same difference.

Secondly, because she was not charged in the firing of her brother in law does not mean the case was frivolous, if you don't see that I feel sorry for you.

Now, when you post up something that is frivolous, which you have not, all you have said is that they are all frivolous, I will get back with you.

I know you think your girl Sarah is perfect but she is far from that. I love the fact that this is the best you guys can get because that guarantees another four years for the dems. If Sarah is the hope of the kook right wing, your party has fallen farther than even I had thought.
