Trolling motor help
What could cause my trolling motor to feel like it only has about 1/2 the power it usually has? I put in 2 new batteries and it still feels week? What else could cause this? Thanks

Re: Trolling motor help
Mine seems to do that when I have the knob turned to charge rather than 24 volts.

Re: Trolling motor help
did you check the breaker mine got tripped and I could not figure why it would only run and 1/2 speed and then I found the breaker was tripped. Good luck

Check your variable speed knob to make sure it isn't cracked.
Re: Trolling motor help
I have checked everything, the knob, breaker and all connections. Do the trolling motors ever just wear out? It is a 2006 and has not seen much use so I would not think so.

Re: Trolling motor help
Bryanw80. The best way is to check your voltage at the trolling motor. You should have at least 25 volts. If you have 12 or 13 volts, you have either wire you batteries wrong, or you have a bad circuit breaker. If you have 24 or 25 volts, then you might have a motor problem. You did not mention what make of motor or model, so it is hard to tell you more details.

If you find you have a motor problem I have a brand new 80lb Maxim pro, motor only, I'll sell for $50.00.
Re: Trolling motor help
$50 for a new 80 lb Maxxum Pro.
I will take 10 if you have em.
Even if you want $500 for it that's still cheap.

Hey, I only have one and if you read closely it is the "motor only" but it is still a steal. Thanks.
