Citica E's?

Post by Jigsisme »

I researched a lot before making my final decision on the Citica E's and I'm VERY HAPPY with them, I have 6 of them.
My questions are:
1) Are there any plans for a future Citica 300?
2) Are there any plans for future ratios for the 200s?

I saw that you can modify a 200e to make it a different gear ratio...how hard is it to do?

Appreciated,
Jigs

I doubt we will ever offer a Citica 300.

If you have a right hand Citica 200E, then you can use the gear sets from the Curado E. 5:1 and 7:1 are your optional gear ratios. You will need the main gear, pinion gear, drag washer and drag plate. The conversion will take all of 5 minutes to perform.

Question....

The "Drag Washer" looks the same, BNT2431

I see different part numbers for...

Pinon Gear
"Drive Gear"
"Key Washer"

Also, what are my options for ordering these parts, do they need to be ordered from Shimano? Are there shops selling these particular parts?

Thanks for the quick awnsers!!!

The parts you listed are the correct ones that you need. You can either order them directly from us by calling 877-577-0600, or from a local warranty center.

How does the Citica E series compare to the old gray curado "D" series and old green curado BSF and "B" series? The price point is the same,(the "D" series was alot more) but would you say that the Citica E is better? I'm talkin from a performance and durability standpoint.

I would say the Citica E is on par with the old Curado 200BSF model. It does have more cranking power and drag performance when compared to the BSF model. The Citica D model will have roughly the same performance, but in a larger and heavier package.

B1,

One more question on this topic (hopefully). If you had a 201 BSF and a Citica 201E in front of you, both for the same price, both 6-1, and both brand spankin' new, which one would you purchase and why?
Thank you and God bless.

Thanks B1,
I purchased a Citica 201E and I'm very happy with my purchase. To me, its worlds above the 201SF. I had no idea it'd be as good as it is. In fact, its pretty close to my Curado 201E7's. I'm sure with time the Curado will prove that its parts are of higher quality, but the Citica is the real deal.

Thanks again!!!

Oh, and stickin' a nice 3 Lb'er on my 1st cast with the Citica was also nice!
