New era football...

Post by sTony »

is it just me or do you catch yourself not celebrating a big play anymore cause you don't really know the result until after all the flags have been picked up? Do they allow players to hit each other anymore? Is a caught ball ever really caught or is it only until after the player has taken ten steps that count it as a caught ball? Does a knee down and touch of an opponent mean the play is dead or is it only dead until after they've spent three minutes unpiling players to figure out who's got the ball after they stripped it out when the player was on the ground?

I don't recognize a lot of what goes on the field anymore. Seems all a quaterback has to nowadays is chuck the ball up for grabs, hope for some incidental contact and get a flag that moves the ball the entire length of the field. That ain't football.

Guess I'll stick to fishing more on Sundays. And that's a good thing, catchin' or not.

stony- bro you are right on about all these friggen flags. I don't get it either, you think your guys just made a great
play for a key 1st down or 6 and there's laundry all over the place. Earlier in the year my Packers were gett'n about
12 flags a game (bs).
I have never seen so many rotten a$$ calls, and also ump'n in the playoffs. I think all these nuts should be held
accountable for the bad calls. Maybe to much video these days.

I guess I'm just showing my age but I've never understood why the NFL needs a rules committee. How often you do you really want to change your rules? They manage to tweak something every season and over time they've kind of lost me.

That and all the prancing and dancing after almost every play, significant or otherwise, and regardless of the score. I just have a harder time enjoying the games.

The rules are becoming those of flag football. I watched the Steelers vs Bengals monday with my dad(he hasn't watched football in years). he was appauled at the calls on the defense. I was saying they need to bring out the flags and leave it at that if they are going to officiate as they are.

Roger Goodell(commisioner) is a JOKE! fines for unintentional helmet hits is insane! Flags for the same are ridiculous. A quarter back only has to fall over at the small contact and draw a flag. James Harrison fined $100,000 for hits, some that were borderline??? Come on...lets grow up here. Maybe one hit deserved a fine but other than that get over it.

Its the pansy QBs and whiners like TO and Ocho Choko that whine and complain about being hit. Brady, Manning, Romo, Brees, are all a bunch of whiners. Its due to these little spoiled brats that our league is turning into a sad sad game.
