How to Upgrade Curado 300D????

Hello All,

I just got a brand new Curado 300D at an AWESOME price and I want to see if I can BOOST it up.

Are there any upgrades such as ball bearings, line guide, or anything else that I can do to the reel to BOOST it up?

The major difference btween the D and E model is the addition of a bearing to the drive shaft, a Titanium coated line guide insert and an S-ARB bearing for the pinion support. You can add all of these parts and upgrade the spool bearings to ABEC 5.

What part numbers would I need to order for all of those upgrades that you've listed and where can I order them from?

Where can I get tips and instructions on doing the upgrade installations myself?

You can order the parts by calling 877-577-0600. The representative will be able to get you all the part numbers you need.

We do not have printed directions showing how to do these upgrades. If you are not familiar with reels then I suggest having someone perform the upgrades for you.

Bantam1,

How does the S-ARM bearing in the pinion support benefit the overall performance of the reel?

Or is it mainly a question of making the part more corrosion resistant?

That is for corrosion resistance.

I have a 300DSV i use for swimbaits. Best bang for the buck is a set of carbontex dragwashers.

I'd use caution regarding any aftermarket drag washers, when it comes to using in any Shimano reel.They can cause more issues than they solve. See it almost every week.
