Can the thru the hull transducer be mounted with clear silicone instead of epoxy?

Yes, as long as there are no air bubbles. I would worry about the silicone coming loose because of the residual oil in the bilge area. Why wouldn't you use the epoxy?

I was thinking it might make it easier to move if I didn't get a good, clean signal in one spot.
