Region 7 results Lake Pyramid

The final event for region 7 was held at Lake Pyramid. The Anglers arrived to post frontal conditions and a tournament the day before by another organization. The dock talk was fishing would be tough with a lot of suspended fish.
As we all know someone was bound to catch them and win. That person was Kevin Shin. Kevin caught a limit for 11.24 pounds. Kevin told the crowd he caught his fish on a Pop-R early and then finished his limit pitching in the grass. He also said he did not catch his 5th. fish until late in the day.
Second went to Troy Lindner, who also brought his new fitness 4 fishing booklet to give away, and also some Baits from 1 of his sponsors, Rapala, to give away to some of the anglers. Troy caught a limit weighing 10.27 pounds to the scale. He said he caught all his fish early on a small Senko pitched into the grass.
Third went to Chip Gibert who drove from San Diego county to fish this final event. Chip only had 4 fish but it was good for 3rd. place with a weight of 9.96 pounds. Chip told the group he caught his fish junk fishing. One in the grass early 1 deep on drop shot, 1 on a senko and 1 on a reaction bait.
This event also was going to decide A.O.Y..With only 10 points between the top 3 it was going to be a race to the finish. Jerry Ballesteros came from behind to finish 4th. in this event while the Leader going into this event, Tony Capparelli finshed 13th. for the day. With only a 6 point lead Tony was unable to hang on to the laed and Jerry Ballesteros became the Angler of The Year for the second straight year. Congrats to you Jerry B.
