Beach Cities Bass

Post by FinaticsClothing »

Beach cities bass club has moved there tournament to Sat the 13th at Skinner. Should be a great tourny, with plenty of big fish. The over 5# pot has rolled over a few times and is looking pretty healthy! Hope to see every one there!

I haven't been there for a few months but I have heard the water is super clear and there is grass growing from the bank out to the center of the lake, also heard the flipping bight is off the hook! but I think with this june gloom the fish will be more scattered over the grass... What you say? ideas any one?

Traps, jerkbaits and topwaters over the grass. Super long casts on everything you throw. If the water is that clear, use as light a line as you can get away with, stay back from what you are casting to, and dont wear bright chlothing. Keep your TM on low and move slowly, no graphs... If the grass is that thick, the fish will either be in it, or on the edges. Find the ends of the grass line, and any sort of edge you can. If you can find the end of the grass near a depth change, even better...

And most important, clean and dry your ENTIRE boat before you go home. Skinner has the mussels BAD, and I would hate to see you get turned away any lake the following weekend..
