Two Day Diamond Valley Lake Date

Post by John Barron »

Due to our sponsor's request we are changing the date of the two day at Diamond Valley Lake. It is now one week earlier February 27th and 28th. The weekend previously scheduled fell on the Fred Hall weekend.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused but it was unavoidable. I think when I announce the 1st place guaranteed prize money you will be ready to fish.
Thank you

****!

I was very excited for about one minute! The TSJoes are fishing Castaic on Feb 28th which is our first event of the season. JB can you just go ahead and let us TSJoes compete in this DVL event and call this the first event of our Joe's season? We can make it a dual event and everybody wins because not having DVL on the TSJoes was kind of a bummer?

RayEl and TSJoe participants can you sound off on this one??

Thanks; Big Ed!

No sound off required. My opinion is just that...my opinion. I believe it's all about the permits etc. I'm sure there is a reason that it's not a combo deal. Don't fret about not get'n to DVL....TOC? Hmmmm?

We will move the first Joes event to give everyone an opportunity to fish the two day open. After this weekend I hope to announce several things that seem to be falling into place for the two day.

The problem is the original date for the two day was on the Fred Hall Long Beach weekend. Three of the sponsors for the two day asked me in a way that I could not refuse. Unfortunately the only date available was that weekend.

Again I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused but this two day. I hope you can make it, this will be a great event.

Jeff we are just going to change the 1 date. I am thinking we may put it on the back end as the last tournament.

Also you do not have to fish all events to qualify. You can skip or miss one and still qualify.

I understand why you guys are doing it. But if we want to have any chance for AOY missing a tourney hurts us. We still have some time and my partner and I will talk about what we will do.

there were many reason we had to move the 2 day at d.v.l. sponsors as well as the Fred Hall show was that weekend. By us making the 1 move of the 2 day it caused us to have a conflict with the first joe's event. We did not want to do that. We made the decission to move the joe's event to not have a conflict. That way we did not split our resources at 2 lakes. We want to put a full effort into whatever we do as far as tournaments. We like to be fully staffed as well as giving the anglers everything they deserve. John, D.L. and myself feel that the anglers come first and we try to keep it that way. We did however also listen to our sponsors and made the move knowing full well some teams may not be happy. It is the sponsors who make this happen for all of you as well as us. If you don't remember the raffle we had just think about all the product we gave away.
Again I am very sorry about the date change but if you were on our side of things you would understand the reason why moves were made at this time.

You guys run a class act and make it alot of fun.

Im down for whatever you guys decide. Maybe we can still do somekind of a dual TSJoe sidepot or something like that. Unfortunatly for me as a Water Treatment Operator I have to work every fifth weekend to keep the water flowing in the pipes and a few bucks trickling into my wallet. Thanks to the staff of the Top Stick Tour for doing a great job!

Later; Big Ed!

We have not forgot Mike Robinett. We will also make sure if you are shooting for angler of the year not to screw up the schedule so bad you won't be able to take the shot.

Remember something Big Ed, you are part of the starting members of the Joes. You are important to the Joes as all of you that participated in the first year. We want to come back strong next year. One way we can is by doing special events to help pay some of the expenses and build the year end pot up. It also helps with sponsors who help make this series possible.

I hope to see all of you next season plus a bunch more.
