Clear Lake WON Bass

Post by Caudawg »

WON Bass Tournament Director Billy Egan was up at Clear Lake making final arrangements for the upcoming Pro-Am on Sept 17 & 18 and sampled the fishing while he was there. According to Billy:"The lake is in great shape, the algae bloom is diminishing, there are silversides on the surface everywhere the bite was great!" Billy raved about how much he loved the lake. "Clear Lake lake has just about every type of structure you can think of except for really deep water like in our reservoirs. And this means that there are loads of different techniques that anglers can utilize to try to catch the heaviest limit possible come tournament day. The frog fishing is going well as are swimbaits, senkos, topwater, cranking and dropshotting" continued Egan.

Billy wanted me to remind our site users that besides a TOUR EDITION 36V MOTORGUIDE trolling motor - model TR109L being given out to "Earlybirds" who pay in full by Sept. 9th, Konocti Vista Resort is offering a great new raffle prize to anyone who stays at the resort during this event. There will be a raffle exclusively for these resort guests at the awards ceremony where one lucky winner will end up getting their Fri & Saturday night stay at KVC comp'd.

To book your room at KVC...call soon at 877-577-STAY and tell them your in the WON Bass Pro Am. (Also tell them you saw their ad in WesternBass!!!) :D

Here is one of the big bass (8+ lbs) that Billy landed on a frog while sampling the fishing with local pro angler Paul Bailey:

Billy called me yesterday and he was bragging just as much about the weight of their top 5 fish. He said 30+ lbs.!

Maybe he will have a picture to back that one up when he gets back in the office and if so we will put that one up here too. Fishing was obviously really, really, good at Clear Lake, so it's time to get signed up for the WON BASS Clear Lake Pro Am!

Do it now and let's get the momentum going for a big field and payback, and with the big fish and big bags it's going to be a wide open tournament.

By signing up now you can guarantee your spot and also win some great additional prizes, including a $1,200.00 Motorguide trolling motor, just for signing up. Details are on the http://www.wonbass.com website. Or call Ashley at 949-366-0030 ext 38.
