senko rod question

Post by dmharrison81 »

Has anybody got any recommendations for a casting rod to throw 6" and 7" senkos. I prefer rods over 7'. I'm looking hard at the crucial 7' 2" medium heavy/ extra fast. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That would be a good rod for the application.

For Senkos, I have been using the Dobyns Savvy 734 for the last year. I throw a lot of the 7 inch and it has the right power and sensitivity to get the job done. Really versatile rod too, if you want something to use for multiple applications!

You do realize that this is the Shimano product forum right?

Bantam 1,
What are your criteria in choosing a senko rod for 6" senkos?

It will depend on the cover and the way you are rigging it.

The way this site is set up, most users who are not shimano employees just click on main forms and it shows all topics(which are limited these days).

I would have given non shimano rod advice as well. That was a close one.
