We had amazing weather for last Saturday's tournament at Lake Castaic. The bite was off, but we still had plenty of limits that came to the scales. Thanks for coming out guys. This is the best region I've ever been affiliated with and is for the most part a "no whining" die hard group of guys and that's why I continue to enjoy myself and run the derbies.

We had an unfortunate incident occur as the team who actually blew away the field checked in 7 minutes late and was docked 3 1/2 lbs to their overall total. It dropped them to out of the money and was very disappointing to say the least. There was a mix up of flights and times and I feel for the guys. I think it would be safe to say that we've ALL made a mistake and learned from it. National Bass rules dicate that for every minute late, a half pound penalty is incurred up to a total of 15 minutes. After that, the team is disqualified. Needless to say, it was a very honest mistake and I along with many others felt for the well respected team.

A big thanks to John Viazanko for attending the weigh in and passing out samples of his "Grumpy Shad" Zank Baits. Most everyone knows how great Zank Baits are and I appreciate him supporting our teams.

We have a date conflict with the Top Stick in April so I'm thinking of moving our scheduled April 12 Castaic event to Sunday, April 27th instead. There are no Saturday's left and it's about the only date possible. I'll let you know as soon as I firm something up.

Last, I wanted to remind everyone that our TOC will be held on September 26-27 at Lake Havasu.
