There is good fishing in both but you cant launch anything in the forebay except scull boats in duck season
I used to walk the banks and do pretty good.

I took my kick boat to Bethany this winter to have a look around. Lot's of potential. Caught a big crappie.

Looks interesting, nice catch. Got a couple questions for you if you don't mind;

Did you notice any current from the pumps (if they were running)?

Any noticeable structure and cover in and around the water?

no current i don't think the pumps were running thats the one thing i was worried and nervous for. I don't think you would have to worry. It is a good little lake though I suggest anyone in the area to give it a shot.

I think you might have missed what I was asking. I was actually looking for current there. It would help one find out where the bass are relating (along with the structure/cover I mentioned!) Basicly I was trying to see if the place was like a big pond or if it had some features.

ooh i gotchya i think i thought that you were concerned of the current like some people iv'e tried to invite to come there, sorry. Still though I didn't notice a current, it was pretty windy though. The lake has good structure and lots of healthy vegetation which i used to locate fish. It had similar features of fishing a slough in the delta. look the lake up on google maps you can get a good feel for the size its a lil smaller then lake del valle and worth a trip.

if you don't mind me asking where exactly did you park without having to worry about your car. I would like to hook up someday and kickboat it. Just let me know the next time
