From Lake Camanche
11 year old Donovan Henry was fishing with his dad, Mike when he set his bait on this year's biggest bass of the new year. Henry was using a 6" purple worm and believe it or not on a 6 lb. test line! Donovan and his dad were fishing about 12' down around 2:00 pm yesterday afternoon. This was a team effort as Donovan needed a bit of help from his dad to reel this monster in. This big bad bass was 26 3/4" long, belly girth 20 1/2" and gill girth 20 1/2". This large mouth weighed in at 13.4 lbs. Nice Job Guys! If this weight holds in the Monster Fish Contest until 12/31/15 you will win an Annual Day Use Pass for 2016!

Congratulations on a nice fish......now for my ranting...wish people would hold the fish horizontal to support the big fish....it cetainly can't be good for it's health...don't mean to rain on your day...just a pet peeve..an seeing too many pic's of big fish lately where the fish aren't being physically supported...like I said in the beginning GREAT FISH ...Congratulations
be careful out there!!! HAVE FUN!!! Wear your PFD.....It could Save your Life

Hey sweet catch fellas and hold the fish the way you want. Yeah there's a certain way to hold a big giant like that but the way your holding it isn't going to hurt it. I've seen some of the best fisherman in the world hold fish like that and talk to the camera for too long and the fish swims off just fine. Great catch and way to go dad, we need more youth out there rippin lips just like that fine young man.

Awesome fish young man By the looks of both your smiles, regardless of the weight it will be a day not easily forgotten. It looks as if you had two keepers, your fish and your Dad. Way to go Dad in spending time with your son making all these remediable moments with your son. Hats off to you sir. Now you guys are ready for Cooch's upcoming tournament this summer if you haven't all ready fished them. Keep it up and practice catch and release and you'll always have more memories to come.
