Installing Transducer on MinnKota Ulterra.

I seen a dealer design this set-up to allow for a external transducer to be installed on Ulterra and not wrap or interfere with Stow or Deploy Functions

I plan on trying this setup on my recently purchased ulterra. Now off to find the right spring. Also i was wondering if that is a special bracket to hold the ducer to the trolling motor?

I own a Terrova, currently using the US2 but will be installing an external TM ducer next week. What about the channel method? Have you seen that done? Where you run the cable up the shaft slot and glue it in place with silicone.
