I purchased a Gen2 HDS7 in May of 2014. This summer I have been having a problem with the lid cover that covers the card reader stayin closed. It will not stay closed anymore. It looks so delicate, I am not sure why it want close anymore. The facing of the unit appears to becoming off to as one end, that being the lower left side can move in and out like it has become detached. I've contacted Lowrance about this. Has anyone experienced this problem recently? Any advice? Thanks

The cover on the outside of the unit is called the bezel. It clips into the unit itself. Make sure it is secured. As for the SD card reader cover, it has a magnetic closure so make sure the bezel is locked into place and it should work. If it does not then you can order a new bezel and card reader door to replace the old one. Ask Lowrance customer service about this and if your unit is less than two years old, then you might be able to get this under warranty. You will need to provide Lowrance with a "proof of purchase" receipt with the request.

Thanks for your advice. I sent in to Lowrance today, still under warranty. The bezel seems to have come loose, can't get it to stay locked in on that side. As far as the lid for the card reader, I don't see a magnet. Lowrance seems to think this could be the problem. A local service rep in my town says these units don't have magnet's! Now you say they do too. So, I am confused. But anyway, thanks again for your advice and help. :D
