Best place to mount ss tranducer

Was wondering where the best place to mount the long structure scan transducer. On the back of the boat or the Jack plate ? Also has anyone mounted one on the trolling motor.

What boat are you running?

Typically when you are scanning it's more efficient to do so under power of the big engine. So having the SS transducer mounted somewhere near your transom best facilitates this.

But to answer your question, yes you can mount then in all three of the areas you mentioned.
