HDS 5 GEN 1

I have a HDS 5 GEN 1 on the console and a GEN 1 HDS 12 on the bow. I have the structure scan LSS 1 as well. I have two issues.

1. I have been experiencing trouble with the HDS 5 sonar. I can be sitting in 10ft of water and it will be showing 200 ft with no bottom or some other in accurate depth. The sonar will also not read depth accurately while traveling from spot to spot. However, the structure scan depths work perfectly.

2. Issue 2, the HDS 5 automatically starts reading the front transducer sonar when the HDS 12 gets turned on or comes out of stand by mode. This just started happening and is annoying.

It sounds like you have the two units connected via an Ethernet cable.

I address this issue in this forum. Look for the thread that is titled "Lowrance Network Question". Read my response in that thread. It will be the same for your issue.
