Ken,
Two questions.
First, why does the temp on my bow unit always read a little higher than the console.
Second, how do I adjust my clock for daylight saving?

Re: different temps/daylight saving change
If you have HDS units, hit the pages key, then System and then Time. You can adjust the time here.
The trolling motor is out of the water when you move from place to place so the reading can be different up there or the calibration can be off a little.
Temperature is a relative reading anyway. You are getting a reading from about 1 foot deep and the fish you are after are usually much deeper than that, 5 to 30 feet deeper in fact. So, what ever the trend is concerning water temp., fish with techniques accordingly.

Not all would agree, but I put temp meters and balance beams in the same category. It's all relative. And if you're out there, you're stuck with the conditions, anyway.

I find water temps are useful when trying to find warmer water in the winter and pre prespawn.

Ken, I have the first gen. HDS5, and it doesn't have a Systems option. Do I need to update the software?Ken Sauret wrote:If you have HDS units, hit the pages key, then System and then Time. You can adjust the time here.
