Selling Ranger to buy a Champion.

Post by 338reddog »

I have a 94 Ranger 461vs not perfect but decent, 150 EFI lcx37 at the wheel and a lowrance 125 at the front.
So Ive been offered a 06 Champion 187 with a 175 optimax and don't know the graphs. This boat is like new. around 100 hours, maybe less. graphs are not much.( mine aint either)

I was wondering what my boat might sell for? I'm thinking $7-8000 but don't know the market
And what are the good and bad of the champ 187.

Any help is appreciated
Jeff

That is a great boat. My 2008 188 CX has been near flawless. It is a little wider and longer. I can afford to replace it, but there is no same size modern boat that is any better. My friends that have boats built by Champion over the last few years of production have been solid.

Look around and see the market for your boat. I had a 93 482 that was clean and I got 10k for it but it had newer 150 opti on it with 150 hrs. I think you should be able to get 6-8k for your boat depending on how you advertise it (photos etc). Clean it up and post it. I wouldnt pass up that deal on the champion if that's what you're looking for. Sounds like a solid boat.

Try using the NADA guide to estimate the value of your boat.
