I bought a hook 7 and was installing it tonight. Got all the cables run. Was wondering how I was going to connect the power cable since there is no way it would reach the battery.
I noticed the one I am replacing had the power hooked up to wires going to a panel under the dash. I connected the new wires to those but unit does not power up. Not sure what's going on.
Should I run wires straight to the battery?

Re: Installing Hook 7 - power question
First check for a fuse and then check for a switch. If you have done both of these, run 2 jumper wires direct from the battery to make sure the connector is good.
Re: Installing Hook 7 - power question
Thanks. It was a fuse. Must have touched wires when removing the old one.
Now just have to glue the transducer down. Gave it sandbagged down for a trip tomorrow to check position.
