Gen 3 hds 9s both seam to run off Stern transducer
My new skeeter has hds 9s the front doesn't read structure scan and they both run off rear transducer. It looked like the trolling motor transducer is wired to work the bow but it doesn't.Do I need a special transducer for structure scan at bow also?

You will need to go into the menus and select the data source for Structure Scan on the front unit to use the LSS-2 on the back of the boat. Hit the Pages button, select System, Settings, go down and select Network, then hit Data Sources. Here is the list of all the devices that are plugged into any network on the boat, NMEA or Ethernet. The sonar data is transferred through the Ethernet network. Go to Structure Scan and select the LSS-2 ducer, save your setting changes. I'm on the road so I did this from memory, hope it's close.

As for the Broadband Sonar ducer on the trolling motor. When you go to Network, hit Sonar and hit Configure on the PDT/WBL or what ever ducer you have on the trolling motor. In Configure, hit Scope, change it from Global to Local. Global means the unit will search all ducers in the whole boat for it's signal. Local means the unit should only search for ducers that are plugged into that unit.
If you still have settings problems with the front and the back units changing on their own because of the Ethernet network, we can talk about that too. Probably the best thing is for me to address this in my next article on this web site concerning Ethernet networks and wanting to see Structure Scan on the front unit where the transducer picture you see is at least 20 feet behind you when you view it on the front unit.
